Summary of Position

IconOVir Bio is seeking an experienced cell biologist/virologist to establish and lead a Virus Production Core to support the Discovery, Translational Research, and Product Development, teams. Key responsibilities include setting up the infrastructure for virus production, purification, quality control, and inventory management. The individual must have the ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This position encourages innovation and process improvement through initiative and technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strong mammalian cell culture, transfections, and virus production/purification experience
  • Generation and characterization of virus banks including genetic stability
  • Analytical assay development (qPCR, ELISA, FACS)
  • Draft and execute protocols and SOPs
  • Analyze and interpret data, prepare summary reports
  • Troubleshooting and solutions-oriented
  • Maintain records in the form of (electronic) notebooks, technical reports, and protocols
  • Manage material, equipment, and instrumentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 7 years experience, Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years experience, or Ph.D.
  • The ideal candidate will have cell biology, virology, immunology, gene therapy, or related background.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Strong time and self-management skills
  • Self-motivated and flexible
